Myroslava Boikiv, Canada
Myroslava Boikiv is a Toronto-based contemporary artist specializing in watercolor. Deeply inspired by the landscapes of her Ukrainian homeland, Canada, and her travels, she captures nature’s colors and forms with a distinctive artistic voice. While watercolor remains her primary medium, it often serves as the foundation for large-scale mixed-media works, allowing her creativity to evolve beyond traditional boundaries.
Her passion for watercolor began in childhood and was nurtured during her art school years under the mentorship of Bohdan Bodnaruk, who encouraged her to study nature as the key to understanding painting. Born in the picturesque Prykarpattia region of the Carpathian foothills, she pursued a master’s degree in art in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Her career included roles at the Kolomyia Museum of Folk Art of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya, as well as the renowned national museum "Pysanka," where she engaged deeply with Ukrainian cultural heritage.
Now based in Toronto, Myroslava continues to push artistic boundaries, working with watercolor, textiles, and mixed media. She has exhibited her work in over 20 cities worldwide and is an esteemed member of both the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and Craft Ontario, further cementing her presence in the global art community.
